Learning Design Tips

All the skills that I have today is almost entirely self-taught obtained. All I get from the internet pages, video tutorials, and partly from the book. This is tempting me to share experiences in self-taught. Here are some tips that will help you when studying alone.
Learning Design Tips

1. Recognize how you learn.
This is the hardest part of learning self-taught, learning how to recognize. We need to realize that everyone is different learning styles. Some people may prefer to learn theory and then follow the tutorial. Others may skip directly to the theory and practice. Some may be more comfortable with reading the case study of a project.
Recognize also learn that media is appropriate for you. Do you prefer to learn through videos, written tutorials, or perhaps through a book? Are you more comfortable with the discussion of the details or technical nature, direct practice?
So, how to recognize our own way of learning? Please experiment by trying all the way and then evaluate the results. This step may take a long time, but once it is mastered, your learning will be easier.

2. Find the best teacher.
Learning itself means you have little or no chance to ask. The best way is to avoid conditions that allow this to happen. Try to learn from the best teachers who can teach easily and clearly.
Do not learn from a beginner! Limited knowledge may even drag you to the techniques that really is not practical or even useless. Better to learn directly from experts who have experience in the field.
Finding an expert is not as difficult as it sounds. On the internet, they will be there on major websites. In the book, they can be found in leading publishers. Easy is not it?

3. Start with a new outline to the detail.
In class, you learn the curriculum guide. Learning materials starting from the beginning level and gradually higher. When the self-taught learning, we organize themselves what will be learned. Should start by studying the outline to understand the role of each material.
Suppose you want to learn to design wordpress theme. Broadly speaking, the design theme is usually started from the design mockup in Photoshop, converting to html / css, conversion to a new theme with php and wordpress codex. So, you need to do is understand the basic techniques of Photoshop, html and css, php and a new wordpress codex. By understanding this flow, the learning process will be more focused and certainly saves time.

4. Do not a lot to ask, use Google!
On the internet there are a lot of good people. They write free tutorials, free articles, free software, free books, and more. It was done because they can and they will. This does not mean that you can not just tell them. Make it a habit to always seek your own solutions to problems.
If there is a problem when studying, start by searching the question in Google. It's easy, just write the question. Wordpress database is damaged, just write "wordpress database restore corrupted". Want to change the chapter number in InDesign, just write "changing the chapter number in InDesign". I guarantee you will get a lot of links.

5. Joining the community
Good community usually active when there is a new discussion. Before you ask, make sure you have searched the old archives. Asking questions that already exist could be making you considered a spammer. Get used also to participate actively in the discussion questions. Remember that the purpose of the forum is sharing, not for us personally.

6. Avoid distraction
Consider what are the factors that can interfere with your learning. This factor may be facebook, twitter, email, or the people around you. If you must be alone, please move to a closed room, not essential to the bedroom.
